The Walgreen's deals this week were phenomenal.  I began the week with just 1 Register Reward worth $1.00 and ended up doing the follwing.

Item price before sales, coupons and rewards :  $439.98
Total hard cold cash spent out of my pocket:        $23.17
Total Register Reward left to spend                        $11.00
Amount submited for Walgreen's ESR:                   $5.00
Amount submited for Manufacture Rebate:             $3.79
Amount paid in postage for rebate:                           $ .42
Let's Do the Math:     $23.17 - $11 - $5 - $3.79 + $.42 = $3.80 final cost
Total Savings $436.98
I had to do 11 transactions at 3 stores to make this happen. Fortunately I have Walgreen's convienient to my work, home, the gym and my sister's house so I did not have to go out of my way. The staff at my local Walgreen's understand how the deals work and are perfectly happy to ring three seperate transactions for you as long as you are polite and let them ring other customers in between if there is a line. Be nice and make sure you have your coupons organized and items seperated by transaction if you are going to do more that one at a time. I would also recommend starting with a simpler deal and working up to one like this.  You don't have to go to the store 11 seperate times, I usually do three at a time. I am giving a brief outline of the transactions below to show how the register rewards are earned and redeemed in a way that gives you the most for your money while spending the least possible out of pocket. Below is a detailed list of all the items I bought along with the coupons I used, rebates submitted and cost per item.
The key to get it for so little out of pocket is rolling one register rebate received for purchasing qualifying items to purchase another group of items that produces a register rebate.
Transaction 1: 1 bottle of Crest Pro heath mouthwash w/ 1 .75 cent coupon and 1 filler. paid $4.57 cash (ouch) got back $4.50 RR
Transaction 2: Purchased 3 bottles of Robitussin cough syrup - cost $2.97 after coupons (filler) used $4.50 RR got back $10 RR
Transaction 3: Purchased 7 SC Johnson cleaning products w/ coupons total 10.50 + tax used $10 RR got back $10 RR
I then could repeat transaction 1 and 3 combined buying the mouth wash and cough syrup and getting both a $10 and $4.50 rr and still have "money" in the form of Register rebates to pay for the "filler" items and the groceries.  See the Glossary for more information on terminology.
